The Karigaree Foundations works on the totality philosophy by establishing an ecosystem that empowers artisans. This is accomplished by focusing on the development of entrepreneurship and social development.
Our mission is to help Artisans realise their full potential by facilitating a variety of skill sets. We focus on engaging rural communities in order to raise their awareness of the opportunities available in the textile industry.
Our Purpose
Rural communities make up a significant portion of India's landscape. These communities make a living by creating and preserving handcrafted art. Tradition and heritage define their distinct identity. As industrialisation took over the hand-made craft, the reliance on Artisans for handicrafts began to decline, and many craftsmen found themselves unable to meet their basic needs.
The most intricate and fine carpets in India come from the most remote parts of the country. The artisan community working to preserve the art of hand-woven textiles is vital to the survival of the timeless craft.
The Karigaree Foundation, which began with a simple dream of providing a livelihood for rural communities, is now assisting in the revival of 2,500-year-old hand weaving artistry and giving Artisans opportunities to shine in their own glory.
Our Presence and Impact
The Foundation is currently working in five Indian states; Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

SDG 3- GOOD HEALTH & WELL BEING
We care for the well-being of our Artisans and their community. To fulfill this vision, we provide periodic health check-ups in the remotest rural areas. By providing door-to-door medical facilities, we aim at providing integrated well being
SDG 5- GENDER EQUALITY
We run an Alternative Education Program to provide fundamental education for women. Through this program we aim to empower women, to take leadership roles within their communities and subvert the traditional gender biases.

SDG 8- DECENT WORK & ECONOMIC GROWTH
We are continuously working in a direction to make our Artisan community self-reliant by providing them with skill training which helps them in fulfilling their basic needs. Karigaree Foundation works on a system of self-attained skill drive.
SDG 12- RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION
Ruchi (Artisan Original), the unique sustainable initiative uses left-over handspun yarn to make an artisan’s own design and reduces industry-wide wastage. It is a remarkable example of sustainable growth without hampering the environment.
